It's summer mission trip time! Are you signed up? Have you ever considered giving of your time
to help others? Mission work in the world around you is very rewarding. You don't have to plan a three month
extended stay in some far off country. You can plan a weekend or volunteer for a day. There are youth groups and
mission teams across the country preparing for mission right here at home. This summer will see thousands of hours
of work done in areas where resources are scarce and people are in need. The body of Christ comes together to help those
who need it most.
My son will be attending a youth mission trip with our church. The Fishers United
Methodist Church Jr. High Youth Group is headed to Niagra Falls for a week of ministry and mission. They will do everything
from manual labor repairing homes to hosting ministry events like VBS for area children. These trips are a great opportunity
to get involved in the world around you and gain a better understanding of God's purpose for your life. This is
my son's second trip, and he is looking forward to the work ahead because he knows that the blessing he receives is far
great than what he gives.
Mission trips are a great opportunity to fellowship with friends and grow in your faith.
